What data does Buzzsprout collect from listeners on third-party distribution channels?
When a podcast episode is downloaded through any third-party distribution channel, listener data is recorded for analysis.
IP Address, User Agent, Referring URL (in some cases)
The data above is retrieved directly from server logs. Buzzsprout does not, by default, utilize any 3rd party tracking technologies on media downloads.
Why is this listener data collected?
It's important for you to know not only what we collect, but why we collect it. Buzzsprout only collects listener data for the following three reasons.
To provide anonymized statistics to our podcast hosting customers
To discover and prevent fraudulent/illegal behavior
To comply with any legal obligation(s)
We may disclose your personal data. In cases where we are required by law to pass on information or if we believe action is necessary for fraud, cyber crime or to protect the website, rights, personal safety of person/s.

WHO IS COLLECTING THE DATA?

WHAT DATA IS BEING COLLECTED?
For our mailing list, we only ever collect your email address. However, when you buy from our store, we need to collect your full name, and mailing address in order to fulfil your order. Once the order is fulfilled, we store the data for a period of time (see “How long will the data be stored for” below), before we completely delete it from our systems.
WHAT IS THE LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING THE DATA?
Your email address is collected for email marketing purposes (our blog).
WILL THE DATA BE SHARED WITH ANY THIRD PARTY
The Bitesize Behaviour Podcast, nor any service it utilises will never share your data with any third-party. It us used exclusively for email communication as outlined.
HOW WILL THE INFORMATION BE USED?
In relation to items you have ordered from our store, we use your data to fulfil your orders. In relation to our newsletter, we use your email address to send you ‘breaking news’ as it occurs, and that we feel may be of interest to you.
HOW LONG WILL THE DATA BE STORED?
Until you unsubscribe to the blog/newsletter or for a period of 3 years following the registration date.
For people who consent to our newsletter, we hold your email address until such time that The Bitesize Behaviour Podcast no longer sends email newsletters out to subscribers, or you chose to unsubscribe.
